Samantha Markle speaks up.
The argumentative half-sister of Meghan Markle, Samantha reached London this week as she and her advertiser endangered she would, hell-bent on opposing her on bad terms sister over the various complaints she and her father Thomas have regularly aired out in the media and on social media since the engagement between the Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry was publicized last year.
“After making numerous attempts in private to arrange a one on one meeting with The Duchess of Sussex to discuss their 74-year-old father’s health, Kensington Palace have refused to respond,” publicist Rob Cooper wrote on Twitter late last month. “I fear Meghan may not be made aware of these discreet attempts and therefore making this public is the only option we have left. I currently have Samantha in Europe with just one short flight away. This DOESN’T need to be public, we would prefer to keep this private. Samantha is coming to the UK this week, like it or not.”
Setting aside the ridiculous detail that Samantha even has a promoter, what occurred once she arrived in England has us expecting that this may be an end to the spectacle that has dominated over Prince Harry and his bride.
As estimated, her invite for a tête-à-tête inside Kensington Palace with her half-sister failed to happen. And as predicted, Samantha obtained herself yet another on-screen conference with the British journalists, sitting down with Channel 5’s Jeremy Vine on Monday morning to deliberate her unsuccessful effort at communicating with her Megan. But it’s what she said when cameras were progressing that’s given us hope, just a tiny little bit of hope, that the Markle family may soon be taking a different road when it comes to their disaffected family member.
“Water under the bridge,” she said.
