Angelina Jolie in pink. Gorgeous in her pink dress, Angelina Jolie wears a hot-pink evening dress at the opening for her next movie, First They Killed My Father, in Cambodia on Saturday, February 18th.

Angelina JoliePrior her typical black or gentle fashion choices, the 41-year-old actress wore a backless fuchsia chiffon dress and sparkling diamond earrings with her hair pulled into a bun. She was honored for her organizational work on the historical movie. It will premiere on Netflix in the near future, by King Norodom Sihamoni in Siem Reap, Cambodia.

Angelina Jolie and familyEarlier that Saturday, Jolie and all six of her children: Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Knox and Vivienne, had a meeting with the king before she was present a press conference with the movies it’s cast. She was wearing a knee-length black dress with lace details and wore her hair loose with waves. The children she shares with ex-husband Brad Pitt, were beautifully dressed in monochromatic suits and dress clothes.

Angelina Jolie and Cambodian people“I cannot find words to express what it means to me that I was entrusted with telling part of the story of this country,” the Maleficent actress told journalists at a news conference. “This film was not made to focus on the horrors of the past, but to celebrate the resilience, kindness and talent of the Cambodian people.”

“Most of all, this film is my way of saying thank you to Cambodia,” she talked on further. “Without Cambodia I may never have become a mother. Part of my heart is and will always be in this country. And part of this country is always with me: Maddox.” (Jolie adopted Maddox with 7 months old from an orphanage in Battambang, Cambodia back in March 2002.) 

Angelina Jolie and Cambodian peopleFirst They Killed My Father is the name of the movie. It’s based on Cambodian human rights activist Loung Ung’s autobiography, with the same name. The movie expresses “the beauty, spirit and resilience of the Cambodian people and culture” and develops the Khmer Rouge’s Communist government, according to a press statement.
