Gregg Allman passes at age 69

Cher posted on Twitter a series of pictures and phrases in tribute to her ex-husband Gregg Allman. He died on Saturday, May 27, at the age of 69.

“I’VE TRIED…” is what Cher wrote. She is now 71. She was devastated when she found out about the death of The Allman Band singer. “WORDS ARE IMPOSSIBLE GUI GUI FOREVER, CHOOCH.”

She then uploaded a photo with Allman, who she was married to for four years until their divorce in 1979. “Never forget….gui <3 chooch,”. In the picture we can see the couple smiling and snuggling.

The southern rocker “passed away peacefully” at his home in Savannah, Georgia, on Saturday, according to a statement on his website.

The singer was battling with drug and alcohol addiction for years and was diagnosed with hepatitis C in 2007. He underwent a kidney transplant in 2010.

Cher married the “Whipping Post” vocalist only three days after she divorced from Sony Bono, the divorce was finalized in 1975. After signing the final papers, she got on a Learjet to tie the knot in Las Vegas.

She filed to finish the wedding only nine days later, allegedly because of his heroin and alcohol problems, but took him back after he dried out.

A year later, she reteamed with Bono for a new Sonny and Cher Show on TV, which caused Gregg Allman to file for divorce. They reconciled after finding out she was pregnant with their son, Elijah Blue Allman.

The pair split for good after their 1977 duet album, Two the Hard Way (recorded under the name Allman and Woman), collapsed.

Cher moved on with a guitarist named Gene Simmons, from famous group Kiss. Cher did talk about her ex Gregg, and how she tried to help him with his battles with drugs and alcohol in April 1978 with the magazine People. She expressed that “nobody ever made me feel as happy as Gregory did.”

“God, he’s wonderful,” she added. “I don’t understand why he can’t see it. He’s the kindest, most gentle, loving husband and father. But then he forgets and everything goes to s–t.”

Cher at the 2017 Billboard Music Awards

What a queen! Our absolutely stunning Cher took us and everyone there back in time with her amazing performance at the 2017 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday, May 21. She truly nailed it!

The pop icon is now 71 years old (as of from this Saturday). She lit up the stage at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena with a spectacular combination of two of her biggest hits: 1998’s “Believe” and 1989’s “If I Could Turn Back Time.”

Cher was dressed in a sexy, skin-baring, white glittery ensemble. She irradiated thoughtful nostalgia feelings when she united with her coryphées to groove her way through an animated version of “Believe.” When the camera hit back to the audience, you could see celebs like for example Vanessa Hudgens, or Blake Shelton. They were seen singing along to the hit tune. With a very cheerful choreography, combined with confetti and a platinum wig, the chart-topping diva nailed the show.

After a brief pause, the artist came back to the stage in a very different look that was very similar to the sheer black catsuit she wore for her music video “If I Could Turn Back Time.” Cher also put on a enormous, curly black wig for the second part of her concert. She sent out durable vocals and an absolutely violent attitude.

At the end of her performance, the Las Vegas headliner accepted the significant Icon reward from Gwen Stefani. “I’ve had so much help. I’ve had the greatest people to work with. … I think luck has so much to do with my success,” she humbly said in her acceptance speech. “I think it was mostly luck and a little bit of something thrown in.”

We all know Cher as The Goddess Of Pop. Where you watching the 2017 Billboard Music Awards live? What did you think of her look?
